They say the morning is wiser than the evening.
Well, in my case, ideas tend to strike somewhere around 2 a.m. And since I occasionally need something to fill my free time with, allow me to present my latest stroke of genius – Blitz Reviews.
And yes, it sounds far more ambitious than it actually is, but the idea is pretty simple. Lately I honestly haven’t had the time (that is, I’ve usually just been too lazy) to write my trademark review novels every time I watch something new – or even something interesting, which sadly isn’t quite as common. Every now and then, though, I still feel like saying a few words about whatever I’ve just seen. For a while, that urge manifested itself as short Facebook posts about the latest film, but after so many years of social media history, they’re becoming increasingly difficult to dig up. And, if we’re being honest, Facebook isn’t exactly the ideal place to maintain an archive of that kind anyway. So I figured it was time to move them here instead. As a bonus, it’ll also give this site some fresh content and finally breathe a little life into a section that hasn’t seen much attention in years.
So, blitz reviews will essentially be mini reviews that I’ll try to squeeze into no more than two or three paragraphs, complete with a few comments and a verdict on whether a film is worth your time or not. So, without any more unnecessary rambling, let’s jump like a flash straight into the lightning-fast reviews.
